This is the urban myth we are trying to get rid of, E-85 will not ruin your engine. This high compression 427 would run terrible on pump gas. E-85 has approximately 105 octane and this car runs sweet. The only modifications we made were hardned valve seats and rejetted the carburator.

You're going to put unleaded fuel in a 1966 engine? Won't that ruin the engine? Even when they first started selling unleaded fuel in the late 60's, it still had some lead in it. We don't want to go back to leaded fuel do we?

I was part of this cars awakening and couldn't believe how much power we made with such good driveable manners. People this engine will rev like lighting and just purrs at idle. It's awesome! E-85 was made for muscle cars.
